
Haltu Arya Vidyalaya ( High) was established in 1952 and it is managed by the Department of Education. It is located in Urban area. It is located in Kolkata Municipal Corporation of West Bengal. The school was upgraded class IV to class VIII in 1964 and to class X in 1982.
The school consist of grade V to X. The school is a Boys school and it does not have any attached pre primary school. But adjacent to it is the primary school. The school is not using this school building as a shift school. Bengali is the medium of Institution in this school. The school is approachable by all weather road. The academic session atarts in January ( at present) as per West Bengal Education Dept. Rule.
The school has a private building but at present it is a Sponsored School. It has got 09 Class rooms for instructional purpose of them 02 rooms need minor repair. Also there are 07 rooms for other non teaching activities. There are almost 200 reference and story books for different classes. Though there is no sanctioned post of a librarian. The school has Headmaster (Permanent Post). There are separate rooms for headmaster, room for teachers, staffs etc. Also there is a pucca boundary wall. This school has electric connection ( CESC), KMC water connection. There are 01 number of toilet for boy students and also 01 toilet for girls. All the toilets are functional. There is also a Trained Physical Educational Teacher under whose guidance students perform a lot of Physical Activities and there is a field adjacent to the school. There is also ramp for Physically handicapped students. However there is no railing. The school has ICT Computer Lab, ICT Computer Teacher who looks after the basic computer knowledge of the schools and also helps in teaching subjects with the help of computers. There are 10 computers all of which are functional. MDM programme is running successfully since 2010. The Managing Committee appointed two female guardians as cook to maintain MDM programme smoothly. The school organizes picnic, sports, excursion, visit to museum etc regularly under the guidance of teachers. Teachers are active and students get every support from them. Admission fee is just as Govt. of W.B has permitted, also there poor students are admitted FREE OF COST. Though the clerk has retired alongwith some teachers were hopefully to get new appointments for those posts. The H.M with the help of teachers, local people, guardians is trying to take the school forward with this aim to “ Free and Quality Education for all”.
