Chilapata Forest High School was established in 1974, Situated in the jurisdiction of Chilapata Forest Range, Alipurduar. At first it was an organized school led by a few teachers. The numbers of students was there very poor. The land in which the institution is situated was donated by the Department of Forest, West Bengal. The institution was founded by the late Manindra Chandra Saha, Ex. Range officer. Gradually it was recognized as Junior High School by the department of Education in the year 1982 and then in the year 2000 it was developed into a recognized High School.
