
Dooars area had many underprivileged people who are essentially voiceless - as in practically cut off from the mainstream society and lived in acute poverty, especially the girls who didn't have any support system at all, nor could they stand on their own legs because of oppressive societal norms.
This school was born out of their unfulfilled desires - gave the once underprivileged girls a voice, dignity & respect.
It was started in 1957 by Sisters of Missionaries of Christ Jesus and then was handed over their able successor - Daughters of St. Anne, Ranchi. The school started its journey as a primary school & was recognized as a junior high school by the Government of West Bengal on 1st January, 1962, evolved to a recognized high school on 1st January, 1965 and then, on 3rd August, 2001, Government of West Bengal recognized it as a higher secondary school.
The school has always been diligent about providing holistic education and empowering women - proper schooling everyday keeps poverty at bay!
