HISTORY

The Sanctoria Dishergarh Girls' High School is situated on the western region of Bengal, on the bank of river Damodar, at Sanctoria village. Its near the ECL headquarters. The story of its inception goes before independence. The British owned Bengal coal company had their headquarters here.It was the year 1939 when there was only one school meant for the boys of the area but no scope for girl education was there. So few education-admiring youths started a night school for little girls and boys in a room of a local club BANDHAB SAMITY. The club authority and the Upendranath Primary School authority together took up the initiative to promote girl education among the little girls of the local area.As the number of pupils started to increase, both the club authority and the school authority  realised that a separate school room was needed for girls' education. So the girls studying in the night school were given their own separate rooms to continue their learning process. It was named SANCTORIA BALIKA BIDYALAYA.  In 1941,few eminent locals unfurled their helping hands to make a separate building for the girls' school. On 1 st March 1942 SANCTORIA DISHERGARH GIRLS'HIGH SCHOOL started its own journey towards achieving excellence in the field of girls'education. Today we can proudly say that we are one of the eminent schools of the locality. We are affiliated to W.B.B.S.E and  W.B.C.H.S E. The board results of our school with almost 95% success rates, make us proud every year. And many of our students are now well established in their own fields. We have a glorious past and a flourishing future.
