Education is a process of acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs and good habits. Formal Education takes place under the guidance of educators, a team of qualified and trained persons in structured environment called School. School gives opportunity to its students to explore every possible knowledge and to develop into them innovative ideas and skills in the areas chosen by them in addition to the general studies. Education changes the way One thinks, feels or acts. Swami Vivekananda believed, “Education is the manifestation of the perfection already in men”.
Under RTE Act 2009 education is compulsory upto class VIII, which extends the ‘educational opportunity to all’ and it is free of cost. Our new Education Policy is going to extend this limit beyond. The purpose of Secondary Education is to give common knowledge to prepare for higher education.
Today's children are tomorrow's citizens. Teachers and parents play an important role in nation building by educating students and inculcating in them the values that help them build themselves into responsible citizens of the country. A teacher can not alone fulfil the purpose of education. The participation of parents and community is also essential. A teacher must win the trust of his students and vice versa. Introspection helps improve continuous learning. Rabindranath Tagore, a Nobel laureate was of the opinion, “A teacher can never truly teach unless he is still learning himself. A lamp can never light another lamp unless it continues to burn its own flame. The teacher who has come to the end of his subject, who has no living traffic with his knowledge but merely repeats his lesson to his students, can only load their minds, he cannot quicken them.”
Our School has evolved from the tiny bud to a highly equipped structure having good number of classrooms with all sorts of basic amenities, responsible and qualified teachers, modern technological teaching-learning aids in addition to traditional ones. We regularly look into the performance of our students as well as our teachers and staff for all round development of our pupils. I am thankful to our teachers who are leaving no stone unturned to complete the syllabus of their beloved students in such an unprecedented pandemic situation.
I take this opportunity to convey my sincere thanks to Sri Sukumar Das ji, our former President, Sri Makhan Sinha ji, our former Secretary, our teachers and staff members for their true efforts and suggestions in the making of our today’s School and the Government of West Bengal in recognising us as an Institution of Higher Secondary Education in addition to Secondary Education since my joining this Institution in the year 2006. We upgraded the infrastructure of our School with the assistance of government grants.
In the last decade we won a number of prizes in different extra curricular activities like Mock Parliament, Sports, Quiz Competition, Science Exhibition and so on, organised by Government and local authorities and secured remarkable and commendable places. Our girls and boys performed well in all departments. This proves that we care for all round development of our students. One of the Swamiji’s quotations support it- ‘the words and thoughts contribute only one-third and personality two-thirds in the making of real man’.
In view of the above, I welcome you, our students as well as the students in the making, to this institution of excellence to share our knowledge and skills with you. We shall stand by you in all possible ways . You shall find it homely and live your dreams here. Our campus is fully equipped to take care of your needs every now and then. I wish you all a happy and successful year ahead.
