Open communication between family and school has a significant impact on the growth of the child. As parents, guardians, and community members, you can play a very positive role by making sure of the following:
  1. Your child attends school every day
  2. Ask your child about his day in school, what he learned, what he enjoyed most and was he happy
  3. Check your child’s planner for any information from the school, such as newsletters, upcoming events,etc.
  4. Encourage your child to read every day for two hours at home, or read to them
  5. Contact the school, or e-mail/phone the principal or teacher with your questions or concerns
  6. Attend parent-teacher conferences to learn about your child’s progress
