Old Egara High School (H.S.) , situated in a backward dominated area ; 90% students of this Institution belongs to S.C. / S.T. community . Inspite of the fact , the school magazine won the prize in the state  level competition . The program of celebration live telicasted by a state level Television channel . Also the school is champion in the block level football competition , Kho-Kho competition , Kabadi competition and youth parliament competition . We observed Kanyashree day in a   befitting  manner and 23rd January for Netaji's Birthday  , 26th January for Republic Day , 15 th August for Independence Day , Nazrul jayanti , Rabindra Jayanti , Vidyasagar Jayanti  and Brikshoropan Utsab each and every year . We complete all govt. program timely viz. Banglar Siksha , Kanyashree Prokalpa , Sikhashree , pre/post metric scholarship etc.we always encourage students & staffs for social awareness programme  i.e  . ' Safe drive, save life ', cleanliness etc. We encourage students of this Institution for using Library, GYM and Mini Indoor Stadium for indoor games.we publish wall magazine regularly. others program of this Institution are Science Exhibition, Inter School football competition , Kho-kho and kabadi competition on each and every year. Our school is a prize winner in Santhali dance in school and college level competition. We observe Chhatra Yuva Utsab . Campaigning of awareness program of dengue is a part of education in this Institution .
