I believe that most of us have tasted and seen His glory. It is my trust that as we believe in Him, every good thing happens to us. Though we face problems in every step but there is one who always comes forward to hold us.
It is very long time back in 1904 when the pioneer missionaries Rev.W.P.Byres got vision from God and established this pioneer girls’ school in the Asansol Sub-Division. From a small rural school it has grown into a large school today with more than 2500 students in Ushagram Girls’ High School.
Besides education, Ushagram Girls’ High School (H.S.) since its beginning has been working for building up good moral character of the girl children belonged to needy families as well as bad social background. The motto “Our sufficiency is of God” reflects in the working field of the school.
Our school starts with the Morning Prayer that has a great impact on the children. The Lord’s Prayer encourages the children for better study and peaceful concentration of body and mind.
It is a great opportunity for me to work here as the Headmistress since 16th September,2009. Since then I have been trying to nurture and embellish the rich legacy and Godly heritage in a proper way. Truly this is sacred trust and my prayer is that God might give me the strength to dedicate myself to carry on worthily the vision and foresight of those pioneer missionaries exhibited down the years.
At present the school is Higher Secondary with three streams namely Science, Arts and Commerce.The school has thirty-two qualified and experienced teachers who perform their duties not only in career materialistic aspect but also to build up the disciplinary and characteristic institution.
The school’s performance in education( both in Madhyamik & Higher Secondary level),Sports & Games, Science Fair, drawing ,yoga ,cultural activities is excellent in not only the Sub-Division level but also in the State level.
The school celebrates the School Foundation Day, the Republic Day, the Independence Day, Netaji Jayanti, Rabindra Jayanti, Teacher’s Day, Sports & Christmas Day with full of grandeur.
All W.B Govt .projects such as the Sabooz Sathi, Kanyashree, Shikshashree, Mid Day Meal, Book Distribution, Uniform Distribution, Aikyashree are running successfully in our school . In the year 2018 our school received the ‘ Best Performance Award’ in the Kanyashree Prakalpa.
As an institution serving the community of students for about a century,Ushagram has established a reputation for maintaining high standards in imparting education besides moulding the young children to become upright citizen of the country. Under the helpful and committed management and dedicated staff, the role played by our school is much appreciated in imparting quality education not in Asansol Sub-Division but throughout India.
