The role of a formal school is primarily believed to be imparting formal education which, according to the narrower concept of education is the process of transferring bits of information to stuff the minds of children with materials from outside to bring about a change in human nature. Education, however, has a much broader and deeper connotation than this. According to Prof. Dumvile, "Education is includes all the influences which act upon an individual during his passage from the cradle to the grave." Education, therefore, is not mere collection of information; rather it is the cumulative effect of all the various experiences that an individual receives at home, out of home life, in school, out of school, anywhere. Whatever broadens our horizon, deepens our insight, refines our reactions, and stimulates thought and feeling educates us.
We at Dishergarh A.C. Institution try to work with the belief that the society has entrusted us with the noble responsibility of nourishing the future and we try to carry out this task to the best of our abilities. Since we look at education with a holistic approach, we aim at bringing about a comprehensive development of children and try to inculcate moral values in their minds so that they can grow up to be useful citizens with a sense of responsibility. To this end, we try to engage the students in regular co-curricular activities to help them grow from immaturity to maturity, from dependence to independence to perform their social responsibilities in a desirable manner.
With the co-operation of teachers, non-teaching employees, guardians, people from different parts of the society and with the patronage of numerous well wishers and various organizations, the school has been rendering the noblest task of imparting education for more than a century and we hope it will continue to do so for many more ages to come.
