Adarsh Hindi high school khidirpur located at to mominpur Road Kolkata 23 is a government aided school. It was established in 1953 on a 16 Katha land with old building built during the British Raj. This was used by the British police as their police station.
The land of this school is lizard out in the name of Adarsh Hindi high school bilate Basant Kumar Das.
The school was run in a dilapidated two storied building till 2008. After getting financial support bye service Shiksha mission 12:00 classes have been renovated.
At present we have a primary section for boys running simultaneously with the secondary and higher secondary section from 11:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In the secondary section approximately 600 students and in the primary section approximately 250 students study. In the morning section up primary school for the girls is running.
The school has its own mid day meal kitchen and store room to serve food up to class 8.
This school also has a lord Shiva temple inside the school campus built before independence.
Recently the toilet block has been renovated with the help of an NGO. The school has separate toilets for boys and girls male and female teachers and non teaching staff.
At present the school has 12 approved teaching and non teaching staff including the headmaster. The acute shortage of teachers and non teaching staff like sweeper gatekeeper and clerck has created a great challenge for the HOI to run the school smoothly.
The students are planted flowering plants and other shrubs inside the school campus to give greenery look along with the old huge banyan tree which is like an umbrella covering the school campus.
The NCC training of army and air force takes place twice a week inside the school campus on a small concrete playground.
The computer lab for audio visual teaching is a place of joy for the students.
The school gets flooded few times during rainy season every year giving a great challenge to the students and staff members in the process of teaching and learning.
Residential buildings are all around the school located very close to the school boundary on three sides.
The old building of the school needs immediate repairing and renovation for the safety of the school children. But the work is hampered due to court cases.
Overall it is a place of joyful learning for the students coming from a very poor economic background.
The school Board’s Results in M.P. and H.S. is excellent. The highest marks of a student are 77.7% in the M.P. 2020 named Hasan Junaid. In H.S. exam 2020 Mr. Majid Hasan secured 94.5% in commerce stream. In arts, Mr. Ankit Kumar secured 89.5%. The most interesting thing is that both Majid Hasan and Ankit Kumar secured 54% and 61% respectively in MadhyamikPariksha.
The school also provides Training for NCC (Jr. Division) in Army and Air Force.
