Our Campus

Barisha Asar Vidyapith(HS) is a Govt. Sponsored Bengali medium school that is situated on James Long Sarani in Ramchandrapalli, at a stone’s throw from the Basketball Court. The gateway of the school faces the South-west. The school building which is draped in green merges with the green foliage of the tree that stands before it.

Established in 1953, the school presently has an Old Main Building with a New Annexe Building before it. The Main Building houses a spacious hall with 4 rooms facing it on the Ground floor. At the foot of the staircase is the LIBRARY with a fairly good collection of books. Two (2) classrooms stand side by side. At the farthest corner lies the KITCHEN that prepares Mid-day Meal for the students of the Upper primary section. Opposite to the Kitchen lies a Store Room to preserve age-old documents. The hall serves as the banquet space where students seated in rows are served their lunch. The First floor houses 3 classrooms, the Physics and the Geography Laboratory. At the farthest corner in North-east lies the Students’ lavatory, posterior to the HEADMASTER’s room and the office room. Mid-way between the Ground floor and the First floor is a landing that leads to the Staff lavatory. This landing connects the Main Building with the Annexe building. The Second floor houses two classrooms and a spacious roof. Mid-way between the First and the Second floor is a landing that leads to the Chemistry and biology Laboratory.

The Ground floor of the Annexe Building houses the STAFFROOM and a classroom with a grilled porch on the anterior side. The First floor houses two classrooms and two lavatories protected by a grilled porch. This keeps the rooms airy and well-ventilated. The Second floor houses a spacious hall that is earmarked for conducting Madhyamik Pariksha (SE) every year. It has an attached lavatory.

On the roof-top has been erected the overhead Water Tank that is cleaned periodically to ensure uncontaminated water supply to the students. Two Aquaguard machines – one at the banquet hall and the other in the Staff Room supplies clean drinking water to the students and the staff. Between the two buildings lies a space with Hand-wash facility for the students. The underground reservoir is located below the staircase almost opposite to Library.

The school has a sprawling playfield on the Northern side. It offers the pupils an opportunity to play and make merry during leisure. There is a Pond on the Eastern side of the school. It enhances the scenic beauty of the place and offers scope for immersion of the clay idols of Goddess Saraswati. Beside the school lies the Primary Section. The school has another exit point on the South-east. The surrounding of the school wears a rustic look that would automatically draw the attention of Nature-lovers for its tranquil settings.
