SOME INFORMATIONS ON OUR ALUMNI

Kamalapur kamala Balika Vidyapith, a reputed H.S. institution of Dumdum has a glorious tradition behind her and still aspires to attain excellence in academic and co-curricular activities. Every year under the tutelage of sincere and competent teachers emerges a batch of fresh, enthusiastic students., ready to conquer the world. The students of our school have excelled in the field of dance and music too.

Sukriti Rani Natta, one of our ex-students is an accomplished dancer, who has won accolades through her performance. Adept in both classical and contemporary dance forms, she has participated in both district and state level competition and charmed the audience by her elegance and grace.

Similar with our recent pass out student Jolly Mukherjee, a good dancer and professionally engaged in this field.

In the academic and professional sphere among the multitudinous stars, Only a few examples are cited, Maitrayee Singh of 2007 Madhyamik batch. Performed exceptionally well in both Madhyamik and H.S. examination, hailing from a humble background, she conquered the odds by virtue of her dedication and courage. She cracked the CSIR, Net in June 2018 with flying colors, and secured 69th position. Having completed M.Sc. from Presidency University, she is currently doing her PhD in Molecular Virology from Presidency University. May be someday this budding scientist will enlighten the world about new ways to combat the virus.

Another student Shrabani Saha who passed H.S. in 2009 completed her B.Sc. in Optometry and vision science and now working at BNR Hospital to serve the nation.

Another serious and dedicated student was Moumita Saha (Roy)of the Madhyamik batch 2007. Having completed M.Sc. in Mathematics from NBU, she has decided to join the teaching profession. This soft spoken, extremely well-behaved lady is now teaching Mathematics at Indira Gandhi Memorial School (Junior section). Brigade of enlightened and liberated women.

Following the footsteps of Moumita, her younger sister Piyali Saha too joined the Brigade of enlightened and liberated women. This 2012 Madhyamik candidate has made her foray in the corporate sector and is currently working at TCS and simultaneously pursuing her Management course.

Another talented student of 2003 Madhyamik batch was Susmita Fouzdar who obtained her L.L.B. degree from Din Bandhu Shaw Law college in Kendrapara , Orissa. This budding lawyer is currently a member of Bidhannagar Bar Association.

Another of our students. , Manali Das is a famed dancer .She has won awards in both district and state level competition. She has also obtained a certificate in Dance (Kathak)from Prachin Kala Kendra.

Susmita Dutta of 2007 Madhyamik batch also successfully completed her MBA in Human Resources Management from Pune. Even after going through a fatal accident, she refused to quit. After a brief stint at ABP Pvt Ltd as HR Personnel, she is currently working in Tech Mahindra and successfully juggling private and professional life. Students of KKBV have often tried to lend a healing touch to the ailing population, they have tried in their own way to alleviate the misery of the suffering humanity.

Oliya Roy of 2013 Madhyamik batch has completed internship at Bhagirathi Neotia Woman and Child care. At present, she is a staff nurse at Desun Hospital. She is one of our front-line warriors, trying to make the world a better place for us all.

The same applies to Arpita Saha, pursuing her nursing course from SSKM college and Hospital.

Ishita Dutta (Sinha) of 2002 Madhyamik batch. has been setting new trends in crafts and jewellery design. Having completed her MA in Geography from RBU, she worked as a Geography teacher in Julien Day School from 2018 to 2019. She has been a National award winner in Creative work from Pidilite Industry in 2006. She is the district award winner from WB state government in 2007. Recently ,she has added a new feather in her cap by winning the ‘Sharod Shamman’ from MSME in 2019.Now she is the owner of her own craft and jewellery boutique "Progressive Creations" and also engaged with various craft workshops and webinars.

It was indeed a moment of pride, on the eve of International Women’s Day, when Sujata Roy, an accomplished karateka and a Government registered trainer and judge, graced our school to give the students elementary training in self-defense. What joyance rained upon us when we came to know that Sujata had been a student of KKBV in her formative years. It was indeed a dream come true moment to see the baton of knowledge and power handed over from one generation of learners to the next.

Another achievement reached by our old student Smt. Khana Das in singing, she received Delhi State Award in Music from the then minister Smt. Shila Dixit.

In the field of games and sports too, there have been notable contribution from our school. Papri Kundu a terrific allrounder has participated in district and State Junior Level Cricket Championship representing W.B. in interstate level tournaments.

In the current year, Shibani Das of Madhyamik batch 2003 has also joined the noble profession of Nursing. She completed B.Sc. Nursing from SSKM college and Hospital. Currently she is a Group B Nursing officer.

Students of KKBV have made their presence felt in every sphere of life Tinki Adhikary of 2007 Madhyamik batch not only successfully completed her formal education but also undertook W.B. Govt civil defense training from the civil Defense Department, Barrackpore. She has to her credit a certified degree on vocational training on printing of jute diversified products. This multi-talented lady is currently a part time teacher in Shahid Rameswar Vidyamandir. 2020 notwithstanding the pandemic situation, our students have done justice to the name and fame of the school.

Sagarika Sarkar has scored more than 93%in Madhyamik Examination, 2020 and Hamida khatun has scored more than 90% in H S Examination, 2020.

We hope in future too, our students will carry forward this legacy. The candle that was lit, way back on 1956 is now a glowing torch, passed on from one batch of learners to the next. Let the iridescent glow of knowledge illuminate the hearts of all teachers., students and staffs of KKBV. We are proud for all our pass out students what ever or where ever they are…
