শিক্ষকতা পেশাটা হল একটা মহান পেশা। বিশেষ করে বিদ্যালয় শিক্ষার সঙ্গে যুক্ত থাকাটা আরও বেশি গ্রহনীয়। মাধ্যমিক শিক্ষার অঙ্গনে কোমল সুকুমারমতি কিশোর-কিশোরীদের নাড়াচাড়া করতে করতে তাদের মনের ভেতরে প্রবেশ করার ক্ষুদ্র প্রচেষ্টায় আছে অমলিন আনন্দ। বিভিন্ন শিক্ষার্থীর মধ্যে তাদের আলাদা আলাদা নিজস্ব চাহিদা ও  গ্রহণক্ষমতা বুঝে তাদের শিখন সামর্থ্য বৃদ্ধি করার কাজ কিন্তু মোটেও হালকা নয়। কাজটি অবশ্যই কঠিন। কিন্তু আন্তরিকতার সঙ্গে বিজ্ঞানসম্মত প্রয়োগ পদ্ধতি অবলম্বন করে চললে ফল মিলবেই। নিজেকে শিক্ষার্থীর অত্যন্ত কাছের এবং আকর্ষণীয় করাও সমান আবশ্যিক।

আমি যে গ্রামীণ বিদ্যালয়ের সঙ্গে যুক্ত আছি, সেখানে দেখেছি অভিভাবকদের বেশির ভাগ সংখ্যালঘু, তফশিলি জাতি কিংবা জনজাতিভুক্ত। দারিদ্র সমান চলমান। অনেকেই প্রথম প্রজন্মের পড়ুয়া। গৃহপরিবেশে শিক্ষার অপ্রতুল পরিস্থিতিতে শিশুদের বেড়ে ওঠা। এই রকম বিরুদ্ধ পরিবেশ পরিস্থিতিতে দাঁড়িয়ে শিক্ষার্থীর কাছে প্রকৃত শিক্ষক হতে পারাটা অবশ্যই একটা চ্যালেঞ্জ।

এ ক্ষেত্রে আমার অভিজ্ঞতায় দেখেছি শিক্ষার্থীদের সঙ্গে যতটা বেশি সময় কাটানো যায়, ওদের দু:খ এবং সুখের মুহূর্তের ভাগীদার হওয়া যায় অর্থাৎ ওদের নিষ্পাপ মনটাকে বোঝা-- ওরা আমার কাছে কী চাইছে? এটা নিখাদ আন্তরিকতায় বোঝা, ততটাই ওদের কাছে যাওয়া সম্ভব হয়। ওদের গ্রহণ এবং ধারণক্ষমতার পরিমাপ করাও আবশ্যিক। বিদ্যালয় পরিবেশেই ওরা ওদের প্রাপ্যটা যাতে পরিপূর্ণ ভাবে পেতে পারে সে ক্ষেত্রে সজাগ দৃষ্টি অবশ্যই থাকা দরকার। শ্রেণিকক্ষটাকে ভাল ভাবে ব্যবহার করতে হবে। ওরা যেন নিজেদের নিয়ে ভাবতে শেখে। নিজেদের ভুল ত্রুটি নিজেরাই ধরতে পারে সেই ধরনের ক্ষমতা তার চরিত্রের মধ্যে গড়ে তুলতে হবে।

মহান দার্শনিক ‘রুশো’র সেই কথাটা মেনে চলা দরকার — ‘Child is a book and the teacher is to learn from page to page’। আমরা যেন শিক্ষার্থীকে তার চিন্তার গগনে উন্মুক্ত বিহঙ্গের মতো বিচরণ করতে সাহায্য ও সহযোগিতা করতে পারি।

It is unanimously admitted that the aim and object of every educational institution is to bring about the total development of the learners and with the same view, our DHALSA HIGH SCHOOL ( present status) started its journey from the year 1976. The heritage of the School is to ensure a time correlation between the teachers and the students. Here the students receive not only a general education but also physical, mental, moral and social education because no student can be a full fledged or complete person sans these educations. I, as the Head of the Institution, am highly proud and contented to have the teachers who are quite responsible for their respective duties and responsibilities. My respected teachers strive utmost for bringing about an all out development of the students and I may assure that all the guardians and all the general people living in this locality feel satisfied with our sense of duties and activities. Our School never noticed any kind of dispute or contention or repercussion between the teachers and the guardians of the students. Laconically, an optimum atmosphere always prevails in our School.
