Jaigachi Shyamaprasad Bidyayatan is over 65 years old and is one of the oldest and most reputed schools in Habra. It was established in the year 1952, and the foundation stone was laid by the great educationist Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee, the person from whom the school bears its name. It was affiliated by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) in the year 1954, and the school was upgraded to a Higher Secondary School in the year 2006.

Headmaster’s message:

              I, Sadhan Kumar Das, the present HOI of the school, was appointed in 2008. Since then, I have put my constant hardwork and dedication into making this school better every year, and making it a standout among the other institutions. I have taken the help of the staff, and together we have made the school popular in the locality, and have undertaken several initiatives to ensure quality education to the local students through the school. It is a pleasure to have several local people as well as some of the ex-students of our school make donations for several important purposes of our school. The staff of our school has been very much successful throughout the years to provide good education to the students of our school, and their hardwork have bore fruit. We are now proud to have our students participating in different activities across district and state level competitions.

The vision of Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee inspires me to put all my efforts towards improving the all-round development of the school.
