Scot's Mission Girls' High School was started by missionaries of Church Scotland way back in the year 1905. It was started as a tutorial home for unpriviledged girls of the very poor family. In time it was raised to class VI giving the school its name as Scot's Mission Girls M.E. (Middle English) School. Further it was raised to Junior High School in the yer 1969 by the sincere efforts of Late Samuel Rai the then Headmaster. It was again raised to Class X High School in the year 1983 during the service period of Late Shanti Dan gurung. At present this is under the Diocese of Eastern Himalaya, Darjeeling, Church of North India. At Present Rt. Rev Bishop Sandeep S. Bhibuti is the President of the M.C. of the school and Mrs Purnima Thapa is a member under donor category working as the Secretary of the School Managing Committee. It is under the West Bengal Board of Secondary education under special rules with 12 members. The authority of the school has received a Minority Certificate from NCMEI National Commission of Minority Educational institutues, Delhi. The MC of the school is formed under Special Rules vide memo no 641 Edn (S) dt. 23rd may 1974 on 19th September 2012. On 2014 the Higher Secondary Section also started with humanities. The matter is being pursued to start Commerce and Science too.
