History

Located in the lush green rural area of Masat, Hooghly, Masat Junior High School,a one storey building with only three classrooms, was founded on 2nd February,2011. The famous Shiva temple of Biseswartala stands about 50 metres away from the school and the age old Masat North Primary school stands adjacent to the Junior High building. The school building was inaugurated by Shri Sanat Sanki, the then Savapati of Chanditala I Panchayat Samity, Masat, Hooghly. The Chief Guest was Smt. Jayashree Biswas, the then SI of Schools of Chanditala North Circle. The school had 6 vacancies- 3 permanent and 2 additional posts for teachers and 1 post for Gr-D. The school was started with 4 retired Guest Teachers with about 35 students in only two classes, VI and VII.It was in December, 2013 when 4 teachers got appointed in the school through SSC examination and started to lead  the school forward taking the baton from the hands of the guest teachers. On December, 2017, a retired guest teacher was appointed for the subject Bio Sc and a Gr-D also joined from April,2018. The Midday Meal Programme was started from the year 2014 and has been running smoothly since then. A midday meal room was set up for the purpose. Presently, the school has Classes VI to VIII and all the students and teachers share a harmonious relationship in the teaching-learning process.
