History

SAHAPUR MATHURANATH VIDYAPITH was established in 12th January 1953 under the aegis of a private Community School. The mission of the school was to provide students in the Treasure Valley with a quality, independent education that focused on engaging and active learning, a commitment to the environment, and dedication to the school and local communities. Located just in south Kolkata  Newalipore opened its doors with 57 students enrolled in kindergarten through eighth grade. Since its opening, the school’s dynamic educational environment has continued to evolve.Mr. mathuranath and some well wishers donated to construct old building.

Soon after the school began, word started to spread. In just three years, enrollment doubled. In 1957 the school received its first recognition from W.B.B.S.E as 2266/G . With additional land to grow into, the school was initially housed in an old building and then in newly constructed two storeyed building.

By fall 1976, the school was accredited by the WB.C.H.S.E  to run  Higher secondary section., We continue to grow and enrollment is growing day by day. Throughout our history, the school community has remained committed to creating an environment in which students are known, supported, challenged, and encouraged to grow.

Set in a  8 kaatah land, both the Primary and Secondary School buildings are safe and idyllic. Sahapur mathuranath vidyapith  offers perfect surroundings for perfect learning.

We are conveniently located just 5minutes from Rabindrasarobar Metro , with excellent public transport links and a comprehensive list of bus routes.

Our school is exclusive within the Newalipore community, with high security patrols helping children and parents feel safe and secure.

Our Secondary School facilities are set up to support students as they master a wide range of subjects. There are rooms for design technology, computer technology, art and design, music and drama. Students can explore the wonders of science in one of five science laboratories, or revise for their studies in a dedicated study room with projectors.
