History

Among the heritage schools in Bengali Medium under West Bengal Board of Secondary Education Garden Reach Mudiali High School attains the zenith position not only in this locality but also in the entire state. It, being 165 years old, is same energetic, youthful and vigorous. It began the journey in the year 1856 carrying the determination and ideals of the noble fellows and education-lovers of this locality.The notable torch-bearers of the institution were Gobinda Ghosh, Tarini Charan Pal, Nabin Chandra Pal ,Shib Chandra Ghosh, Lala Shakrulal, Jadunath Banerjee, Kailash Banerjee, Kashinath Banerjee , Paul Gregry, Paul Gorgon,Abinash Chandra Surai, Jadunath  Majumdar, Dr. Batakrishna Kundu , Monimohon Dhara etc. We the present followers are ever grateful to the mentioned respectable persons as they illuminated the light of education through this school in this locality.

              After crossing the sesquicentenary  it is  approaching towards bi-centenary. In the motion of time, in the history of destruction and creation it is the dues-ex-machina as usual. On the cosy, affectionate lap of it thousands of buds “Barshe Barshe Dale Dale” sprout and spread out the fragrance of their own. It had  begun its journey with the heart- felt love and endeavour of the  above-mentioned notable persons and it has become a Banyan Tree to provide shelter to innumerable at present. The relationship between those fellows and the persons concerned today, surpasses the relationship of blood. Certainly this relationship is immortal. The descendants at present bestow gratitude and regards towards the predecessors concerned taking the oath: “Arise, Awake and Stop not till the goal is reached”.
