A BRIEF HISTORY OF OUR SCHOOL :

The school Garden Reach Nut Behari Das Higher Secondary school (Boys) was founded in the year 1941 by Nut Behari Das. He was illiterate but realised the importance of education and founded the school in Paharpur Road, Garden Reach for spreading the light of education. He was a Riveter Contractor by profession. His elder son Panchanan Das, who was the General Manager and Director of Sterling Bank Limited, helped him in foundation and other works.

At first the school started in a rented house and after some days it got its new structure with a lot of obstructions as it was the time of Second World War. On 1st January, 1942 Calcutta University recognized it as H.E. School. The first Headmaster of this school was K.N. Sengupta.
