
Events, mostly socio-cultural, are organized following the academic calendar and at times when instructions come from the school education department and other government wings. Observations days like the Independence Day, the Republic Day, Teachers’ Day etc are held with great care. The NCC music band and the cadets lend some degree of pomp to the events like annual sports, cultural functions etc in addition to the national events like the Independence Day. Students lead the show during Teachers’ Day celebration. Recently, the school organized events like rally paying tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of his 150ieth birth anniversary. The school also organized similar programmes to remember Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar and his works as social reformer. Teachers also take active part in awareness programmes on water conservancy, plastic management etc.
Khenkul High School is situated at the heart of the village Khenkul . The school premises consist of one U- shaped three – storied building including the Boy’s hostel. There is one office room, one teacher’s room, one library, fourteen classrooms, one NCC assigned room, one mid-day meal kitchen room, one mid-day meal dining room, bathrooms for teachers and separated bathrooms for male and female students. There is a playground of the school. The school entrance looks full of vigor with blooming plants and trees. The vast playground flourishes with greenery around. The environment of the school is calm and pleasing. There are trees all around the school which caters to the engaging interest of the students into studies.
