Academic Calendar

Teaching – learning activity follows the academic calendar as instructed by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education. It is binding upon teachers to conduct classes in accordance with the calendar because many of the pupils coming from financially marginalized families depend solely on the class teaching at school. Evaluation forms an integral part of the academic calendar. Summative evaluations are held in time-bound manner and teachers are careful enough to observe students’ manners, performance in co-curricular activities, punctuality etc to ensure that formative evaluations are done in right earnest. Games and sports also feature in a great deal in the academic calendar of Khenkul High School. Annual sports mark the end of year-long sport events. The holiday list includes observation days when the students not only participate but also involve villagers of the locality. A number of awareness programmes are led by students under the guidance of class teachers.
