"If the many and the One be indeed the same Reality, then it is not all modes of worship alone, but equally all modes of work, all modes of struggle, all modes of creation, which are paths of realization. No distinction, henceforth, between sacred and secular. To labour is to pray. To conquer is to renounce. Life is itself religion. To have and to hold is as stern a trust as to quit and to avoid." - Sister Nivedita
Margaret (Sister Nivedita) English School was officially recognised in 1966 as class XI school vide memo no. 18674/G dated 12.12.1966 but long before that in 1954 it started its first journey under the leadership of Father Jacob as "Queen's School" (primary level) embedded adjacent to Hill Cart Road,Pradhannagar area. After that an impulse existed to create an upper primary school and probably in 1960 with the conspicuous efforts of Swami Bhabeshananda, the school came under the guardianship of Ramakrishna Vedanta Ashram which remarkably aided and upheld the spectacular rise of a starling institution.
In 1990, the school received provisional recognition from the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education vide memo no. 91/DS(A)SD/90 dated 21.07.1990 for imparting higher education(class XII) in general stream course.
Later this Govt. aided and co-educational institute has been shifted to the heart of Pradhannagar, about 2kms away from Siliguri Railway Junction.
