Our Campus

Margaret (Sister Nivedita) English School, a renowned educational institute is located in Pradhannagar, Siliguri in the state of West Bengal.

The school with its massive three-storeyed structure and the sculpture of Sister Nivedita in front, faces the Nivedita Road, dotted with innumerable stationary shops and book stalls. On the left side of the school lies Champasari and to its right lies Gurung Basti.

The school campus may be divided into two sectors. The first sector is the huge lushy green playground primarily utilized for annual sports meet, football tournament, cricket tournament and other games. Within the second sector lies the main school building. There are, in fact, three entrances leading to the school building from the playground, two in front and one at the back. The school building consists of four blocks surrounding a central vacant area where the morning assembly is held.

The building adjacent to the playground is the main administrative block consisting of admission office block, waiting room for guardians, the Headmaster's and the assistant Headmistress's room, two large staff rooms and three classrooms in the ground floor. The most spectacular structure is the school auditorium, covering the first and the second floor above the administrative block where all school functions are staged. On one side of the auditorium lies the school library.

On the right hand side of the administrative block of the three-storeyed building is the girl's section. There are a large no. of classrooms in this section and the female students from class V-X (both E.M and B.M) are housed in these rooms. Lying at right angles to the girl's block is the central block consisting of several classrooms and the computer laboratory, occupying two huge classrooms. Classes XI and XII -science,commerce and humanities (E.M and B.M) have been allotted in the ground and first floor of the central block. The second floor of the block is allotted for the male students from class V-X (E.M and B.M).

On the left hand side of the administrative block lies another three-storeyed building housing the physics, chemistry, biology and geography laboratories along with several classrooms allotted for the concerned students.

The beauty of the school is enhanced by the presence of a huge mango tree on the side of the central block providing shade to the children during days of bright sunshine.

It is to be mentioned that huge corridors or verandahs extend from one end to the other in every storey and are covered by iron grills to safeguard the students.
